Interior Designer for Willow House

Willow House is Guernsey's first Sexual Assault Referral Clinic and after The States of Guernsey saw our work at Action for Children they invited us to get involved.
A high level of professionalism and respect was a central value to this project. In order to achieve this, we used lots of rich earth tones and plenty of soft, natural textures. Many of the core principals of trauma informed design revolve around cosy, open spaces, as rooms that are too big can feel daunting and overwhelming. Unfortunately the main room for this centre had giant vaulted ceilings and full height windows. So, we knew that we would have to find solutions to work around these architectural features. Clever placements of paint and window finishes help make these spaces feel less intimidating. In addition, many of the rooms needed sound proofing and deadening that we installed in subtle and non-intrusive ways.
